Azure Solution Architect

We are looking for an Azure Solutions Architect to design and communicate end-to-end solutions, and facilitate and direct the design and development of integrated solutions across multiple platforms in order to meet current and future business needs.

 

The Role

 

  • Lead the creation and review of an end-to-end domain architecture and processes to support the strategic requirements of the business. Identify the business benefits of alternative strategies.
  • Establish strategies, policies, standards, and practices to ensure alignment between business strategies, enterprise architecture, and technology directions.
  • Create and present business cases in support of high-level initiatives and approvals.
  • Create and communicate multiple design views to identify and balance the concerns of all stakeholders of the domain design and to allow both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify and assess alternative design options and trade-offs.
  • Ensure that domain architecture decisions are justified and documented. Assess and manage associated risks.
  • Ensure that the platforms and components chosen for a domain-specific solution are integrated to meet domain goals.
  • Provide estimates of effort and cost, as well as a work breakdown structure.
  • Present domain architecture to governance bodies, address architectural actions and participate in the overall IT governance structures.
  • Works closely with EMA architects to develop the solution while adhering to EMA architectural principles.
  • Partner with Platform Architects from the Strategic Platforms (I-SP) department to assess and optimize domain functional requirements and enhance technical requirements from the platform architecture.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architect from the CIO Office to ensure that the domain architecture is consistent with the broader enterprise architecture.
  • Contribute to solutions testing and identify potential improvements to the domain solution, processes, and strategic platforms based on agreed-upon designs/requirements;
  • Works with the Business Analysis function to identify and prevent risks from the requirements gathering phase and throughout the solution’s lifecycle.
  • Encourages continuous knowledge transfer to team members and a transparent approach to sharing risks/issues/dependencies.
  • Manage activities autonomously based on the Project Manager’s priorities;
  • Reports testing results using the JIRA SDLC tool;
  • Identify potential improvements to the process and software products based on agreed-upon designs/requirements.

 

 

The Requirements

Must-Have:

  • BCS, TOGAF, SWEBOK, or other valid architecture certifications
  • Relevant professional qualifications in cloud-based solution design (e.g. Azure, PowerApps Portal, MS Dynamics 365, MS SharePoint Online)

Experience:

  • 5+ Years of experience
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering end-to-end business solutions implemented across multiple components, platforms, and technologies (both cloud and on-prem);
  • Hands-on experience with agile software development methodologies (i.e., Kanban, Scrum, and other lean techniques);
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies (Microsoft Dynamics Portals, Microsoft SharePoint online
  • Previous experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA SDLC is preferred.
  • Previous experience designing and developing software in a fast-paced and changing business environment to design and develop software that meets business needs;
  • Experience in the full development lifecycle of complex large-scale and multi-user applications;
  • Production of the relevant technical documentation, such as system designs, class designs, and documentation for the support team;
  • Capacity to assist the support team in training the users of the system;
  • A solid technical background, particularly in the delivery of complex software systems;
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management and/or Risk frameworks, and/or international standards.

Benefits

  • Daily rate: 490 EUR Gross/ Day – all-inclusive with NET30 payment
  • Contract Duration: 1 year with Extensions up to 3 years
  • Type of Engagement: Freelancer or willing to start a freelance activity / B2B on a contract directly with the company.
